What I Know Now
One of the gifts of life after 60 is realizing that the door never really closes on learning or creating. We sometimes fall into the trap of thinking, “If I didn’t start earlier, it’s too late.” But I’ve come to see that isn’t true.
Here’s the thing: time will pass either way. If you wait, you’ll still be 65 or 70 down the road—only without the joy of having started. The key is to let go of a limiting mindset and just begin.
Whether it’s picking up a new skill, writing that story you’ve been carrying around for years, or finally painting that picture of the Gulf you've always wanted to paint —there’s no expiration date on curiosity or creativity. In fact, the perspective and wisdom we bring later in life often make the process richer and more meaningful.
So, don’t wait for the “perfect time.” Start small, start today—but start.
