This week I’ve been struck by how two very different books carry the same powerful message. Ina Garten’s Be Ready When Luck Happens reminds me that luck isn’t really luck — it’s preparation meeting opportunity. And Will Packer’s Who Better Than You is a call to believe in ourselves, to silence doubt, and to step forward with confidence.
Blended together, they feel like the perfect recipe for this stage of life. Be prepared — keep learning, keep your finances in order, keep your mind curious — so that when opportunity knocks, you can say yes. And just as important, remember: Who better than you to make the most of this next chapter?
That’s what I know now: readiness and self-belief are two of the greatest tools we carry with us into our 60s and beyond.
