What I Know Now..

For all my subscribers, just a quick Friday thought...

What I Know Now is…

Lately, I’ve been reading The Correspondent, a book about a woman who communicates only through letters—and people write her back because they know that’s her way of connecting. It reminded me of one of my favorite stores, Papyrus, which used to carry the most beautiful stationery and cards.

I’ve always loved sending cards. To me, it feels like a simple but powerful way of saying, I care about you, I thought of you, and I took the time to let you know. In our world of instant texts and quick emails, a handwritten note arriving in the mail feels extra meaningful. Sometimes, that little bit of effort is what makes a connection feel deeper.

Maybe it’s a bit old-fashioned—or even old world—but there’s something timeless about ink on paper that no digital message can ever quite replace. And maybe holding on to these old-fashioned traditions isn’t such a bad thing…even if it makes me sound like a grandmother. (Next thing you know, I’ll be reminding everyone to bring a sweater!)
